Select appropriate color, design and material for an artwork and cut the fabrics.

The selection of the fabrics for mounting, the colors and patterns vary depends on the style and meaning
of the paintings or calligraphic works. Each Tea school and Buddhist sects have their own preferences.

Cut a set of fabrics with knife and scissors to the required size. Those fabric strips are called ichi-monji
(narrow fabric strip attached above the painting), Chu-mawashi (fabric surrounds the painting) and Tenchi
(Literary means heaven and earth. It is attached at the top and bottom of the painting.).
