First, insert washi paper between the wood board and the painting to protect the painting and apply water
treatment. Attach Jikubukuro (pocket-like reinforcement fabric) is applied to attach upper and bottom rollers.

Apply final backing with a thicker diluted paste. Put the paste on the uwamaki and udagami and place them
on the painting and fabrics with using a spatula. Beat with a beating brush (uchi-bake) to assure a strong
adhesion. After beating, make sure the fuzz from the washi paper is smoothed with a smoothing brush
(nade-bake) . It is very important to smooth out well in this process, as it will damage the painting for repeatedly
rolling if it is not smoothed well enough. After smoothing, attach reinforcement fabric called jikudasuke around
the lower roller (jiku).
