The history When Kobo 
    Daishi visited this temple for the Konin era (816-823) and he was practicing asceticism at 
    Akagadani in the little inner part from this temple,Kumano Gongen of kishu appeared and 
    gave the gold image of Kanzeon Bosatsu (about five centimeters) to Taishi and it went 
    away. Then Taishi carved the left-sized image of Senju out of the spirit tree by 
    himself,he put 120 grains of Buddha's ashes and the prineipal image of the gold image in 
    its breast,he built the temple building and installed it,and and he made it the eighth 
    Buddhist temple,Both the principal image and the main temple were destroyed by fire in 2 
    the Showa era,and they were rebuilt in 46 the Showa era.

      fine view  If you turn the front of 
    Kumadamji tenple to the hitty sections,there is the inposing main gate of the Buddhist 
    temple that is two layers in front of the approach of the row of cherry blossoms. This 
    gate is 13.2 meters high. It is said that this was built by Choi Shonin in 4 the Teikyo 
    era (1687),and it is appointed as cultural assets of the prefecture in 46 the Showa era. 
    If you go through the main gate of the Buddhist temple,there is Kuri (the kitchin of the 
    temple) on the left-hand side,Bentensama is deified in the islet in Kumadani lake on the 
    right-hand side.If you go forward further,there is beautiful Tahoto on the right-hand 
    side,and in front of the pagoda there is rakando which which deifyers Jurokurakan. 
    Jurokurakan and Tamonten were deified in the middle gate,if you go through the middle gate 
    and go forward further to the inner part,there is the main temple,The present main temple 
    was rebuilt in 46 the Showa era,the principal image of Buddha is installed in the 
    storehouse at the back of the main temple,and you can bow to it at the main trmple,If you 
    go up the stone steps of the left-hand side from the main temple,there is Taiahido.There 
    is excellent "Garyu no Matsu" with low branches like a dragon which lies down in 
    the garden of the drawing room in the shoin style.   |
