About

TAIHODO is a Gallery and Japanese Painting Conservation Studio
located in Niihama-city, in Ehime prefecture, which lies in the northern
part of the island of Shikoku in Japan.

We established our restoration+conservation studio in 1935, specializing
in Buddhist and other artworks on paper or silk such as hanging scrolls,
rolled hand scrolls, screens, door panels, and wall paintings.

Over the past 75 years we have maintained and handed down through
the generations the traditions of master craftsmanship and quality
mounting techniques.
